Happy New Year Eve lovelies!
I can’t believe it will be 2019 in just a few hours from now! New Years celebrations are soon to be in full effect, so I wanted to share this simple feminine new year’s makeup look with you to inspire you as you’re preparing for your upcoming celebration. I am so excited about this new year and have been reflecting on my experiences this past year, but I’ll get more into that later. So let’s jump right into this new year make up look!
New Year Makeup look featuring Too Faced Cosmetics
This look is featuring mostly products from the amazing Too Faced cosmetics. I really love their products because they are cruelty-free, totally vegan and the packaging is so feminine.
I always apply my eye makeup first to prevent fall out on perfectly blended foundation which can be a total nightmare. So let’s begin!
To prevent creasing I applied the Too Faced Shadow Insurance on my lids. I then apply the color Peach Spice from the Tickled Peach palette in my crease as my transition shade. Next, I go over this color with Love Pit to add depth. Lastly, I apply Plum fun just to my outer crease. Moving on to my lid I pat on Warm & Fuzzy. Next, apply Parisian Peach in the inner corner of my eye to brighten the look. Finally, I sweep Plum Fun under my lower lash line. I also applied a bit of Queen Patrick from the Patrick Starr Stay with Me eyeshadow quad by Mac on my lower lash line for a dramatic pop of color. If you don’t have this palette just use a royal purple liner.
Now let’s beat that face
Moving on to the face always start with applying a primer to keep your makeup looking fresh all day or night long. I used the Bare Minerals Good Hydrations Primer which is excellent for dry skin. I then applied my Too Faced Born this way foundation and concealer and set my foundation with the Ethereal Setting powder. To contour I used the Chocolate Soleil bronzer. Next, I filled my brows with the Tarte Amazonian Clay waterproof brow pencil. Finally, I applied the Your Love is King blush on my cheeks and the Canary Diamond Highlighter right above where I applied the blush.
To finish I created a wing liner using the Bare Minerals liner shadow in Onyx. I mix the liner shadow with a bit of the Crystal Power Hydro Mist to create a liquid liner. You can also use water instead. The last steps are to apply your favorite mascara and lipstick. I used the Better than Sex Mascara and Mac lipstick in the color Captive.
Reflecting on the past year
I’m not one for making new year resolutions, but I am all for self-reflection to make improvements on self. As I reflect on this past year the one lesson that stuck out the most is to never take life for granted. Human life is so precious and you have no idea how much time you truly have here on Earth. I lost my mother this year and losing her just gave me a whole new perspective on life. My mother sacrificed a lot for others and I truly don’t feel like she lived her life to the fullest. There were so many things she never got to experience and I really feel like that was so unfair to her.
As much as I wish that I could bring my mother back, the only thing I can do is to do better. So with that being said, in this new year and years to come, I will strive for happiness, positive experiences, and enjoying my life. No more self-sacrificing, feeding into negativity and drama, or putting things off. I want this year to be filled with joy and love. I want to be able to look back at my life and feel good about the things that I’ve accomplished. I also want to live a healthier life meaning not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
