Feminine Everyday Makeup

June 5, 2018

In today’s post, I would like to elaborate on the basics of feminine everyday makeup. I love wearing makeup because it enhances my already natural beauty and makes me feel good. When I apply my makeup I try to adhere to a very natural look that doesn’t look super made up. You don’t need a large selection of products for a flawless natural finish. Less is more when it comes to feminine everyday makeup and I will show you how to do this using minimal product.

Face

I start off with a clean fresh face. I like to first apply a moisturizing face primer.  The primer helps to reduce the visibility of large pores, adds moisture to dry skin, and helps the foundation glide on smooth. You may use any primer that best works for your skin type, but my favorite primer thus far is the Good Hydrations Silky Face primer by Bare Minerals. This primer is perfect for anyone with dry skin.

The next step is to conceal any obvious blemishes and dark circles. You may use any concealer that works best for you. I like to use Stroke of Light by Bare Minerals for my under eye area and the Bare Pro concealer for my blemishes. Use a damp makeup sponge to blend the concealer gently under your eyes and follow up with a bit of powder so it won’t crease. Also, blend any of the concealer applied to your blemishes with a sponge or concealer brush. Next, apply your foundation. My current foundation crush is the Bare Minerals Bare Skin Pure Brightening Serum. I only need to use 2 drops for the right amount of coverage and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything at all! I find the best method to apply your foundation evenly is to put 1-2 pumps or drops of foundation on the back of your hand and then use your index finger to dot the foundation all over your face. Next, blend it out with either a damp makeup sponge or a foundation brush.

The final step is to apply your bronzer which adds a bit of color and dimension. I absolutely love Warmth All over face color by Bare Minerals. I like to apply it to my temples and on the hollows of my cheeks using an angled face brush.

Eyebrows

Before even applying eyeshadow I like to shape and fill my brows. Your brows frame your face so this step is important if you have sparse or thin brows. (If you have thick full brows feel free to skip this step!) Use an eyebrow spooly to brush your eyebrows into place and then a dark brown brow powder to fill them in where they look sparse. I normally only add the brow powder from the middle out to the end following my natural brow shape. You can also use a bit of concealer under the brows for a freshly waxed appearance. For a more natural appearance skip the concealer unless you need to clean up some mistakes.

My favorite brow powder is the Bare Minerals brow powder in the color brunette. You may also use an eyebrow pencil for this step! I like the Revlon Colorstay brow pencil. It’s inexpensive and has a spooly on one end to help you achieve the perfect brow!

Eyeshadow

I love to stick to neutral colors for my eyeshadow look because they just look pretty on any skin complexion. Plus neutral colors will compliment any outfit color that you are wearing for the day. A neutral eye look is very feminine and subtle. It looks effortless and has an overall natural feel. You may use matte shadows or shadows with a bit of sheen for an everyday look. Save your glittery shadows for a date night or special occasions. Start with your favorite eye primer then apply your eyeshadow. You want to have a very subtle eye look that’s not too overpowering. Remember, less is more! Once you’ve applied your eyeshadow add a bit of liner, curl your lashes, and apply 1-2 coats of brown or black mascara.

You are welcome to wear a colorful eye look as long as it’s not too overpowering. You want to keep your look very soft and subtle. When I want to wear color I love reaching for my pink and purple eye palette. The colors are so soft and feminine and they compliment a lot of my outfits since I wear pink often!

Finishing Touches

To finish your overall look sweep on a pretty pink or coral blush to the apples of your cheeks and apply a nude lip color or sheer gloss. You may use any nude color that works best for your skin complexion. Nude pinks, corals, and even soft browns are the perfect finishing touch lip color for a feminine look. Add a bit of translucent powder to set your look and finish it with a makeup setting spray to keep your make up in place all day!

I hope this tutorial on how to apply feminine everyday makeup for beginners was helpful. Use this only as a guide for how to apply your makeup for a beautiful everyday feminine look. As I stated before when you are going for a feminine effortless look less is more!

Until next time! ♥
