Sonata’s 9th birthday had finally arrived, and she requested a princess birthday party. I was excited to obligue her request as this gave me room to be creative as possible. I decided to throw a royal tea party for her because I thought this was the perfect occassion for a princess turning 9 years old. Wouldn’t you agree?
I decide to decorate her party with pink and gold. Her golden birthday banner was reused from a previous party we threw her last year. Fresh flowers were used as table decor and I purchased a gorgeous pink and gold tea set from our local thrift store. I made her a beautiful pink princess gown and bought her a sparkling tiara to complete her look. Since this was a royal high tea party, I decided to try making a vintage style birthday cake. Making the cake was a really fun and enjoyable learning experience.
For party activities, all the boys made decorated their own crowns and we played musical chairs to classical music. Our party was very intimate since all of our family lives in Ohio, but Princess Sonata still enjoyed herself.
I truly enjoy planning birthday parties for our littles. The practice will be terribly missed when they get older so I cherish the time we do have with them. Hopefully this post will give you some inspiration in your own party planning.
