10 tips on how to be more feminine

May 17, 2018

Have you ever wondered how to be more feminine? Femininity is not just about looks, but its an entire lifestyle. It’s the way you think, carry yourself and how you feel overall. If you are ready to transform your way of being to incorporate a more ladylike lifestyle here are 10 ways to be more feminine.

1. Wear more Feminine Clothes

Beautiful pastel shades and floral prints speak femininity. Buy a pretty dress or skirt in powder pink, lavender, or even white. Try pairing a floral skirt with a gorgeous blouse. Go for soft flowing fabrics that make you feel like a princess. Tulle skirts are a perfect choice and flatter every figure. Dresses with a circle skirt are also very flattering for every body type.

2. Add more dresses and skirts to your wardrobe.

Nothing speaks femininity like a beautiful flowing dress or skirt! Pick a few styles that flatter your figure and keep it modest. There is a big difference between feminine clothing and trashy clothing. There’s nothing wrong with flaunty what assets you have but do it in moderation. Do you have great legs? A dress or skirt that hits right above the knee paired with a cute pair of heels is perfect for showing off those beautiful legs! Maybe you have lovely boobs with great cleavage. Try a pretty dress or blouse that has a glorious decolletage. There’s nothing wrong with showing a bit of skin here and there, but mini skirts that barely cover your bottom, clothing that looks like a second skin, etc. is not feminine at all. If you wouldn’t go meet your in-laws in it then don’t wear it!

3. Keep your nails painted.

Having a beautiful manicure will make you feel beautiful. It’s nice to look down at your hands and see beautifully painted nails in your favorite shade of color. If you are a mom like myself, I suggest using a gel polish such as Essie’s Gel Couture, or Sally Hansens Miracle Gel. Both of these will last longer than a normal polish and will get you through all those handwashes and doing the dishes. The best part about these nail polishes is that you don’t need specialized polish remover to remove the polish. Any nail polish remover will work! My manicure usually last about a week before I need to redo it. I only have to touch it up a bit throughout the week to keep it looking fresh.

4. Wear makeup even if you aren’t going anywhere.

You don’t have to do a full face when you don’t plan on going anywhere but get into the habit of making yourself presentable always. Normally I would use an eye brightener, liner, a bit of mascara and some tinted lipgloss if I’m not going out. I don’t put on makeup to impress other people. I put it on because it makes me feel good and I love looking pretty. It just boosts your confidence overall and you never know who might pop up! Find a simple makeup routine for at home and stick with it for those days you aren’t planning on going out.

5. Accessorize your hair.

Wear a beautiful headband, flower crown, or a fabric bow in your hair. The possibilities are endless with hair accessories. Don’t limit yourself to just wearing hair accessories for special occasions. Wear them every day. You will not only look more feminine, but you will also feel beautiful!

6. Get pampered.

Go to a spa and get your eyebrows waxed and trimmed. Get a manicure and pedicure and maybe even a much-needed massage! I would even suggest getting a facial because of how beneficial and relaxing they are. You don’t have to go to a spa all the time and some of these services you can easily perform at home. You can also, put a little money away to treat yourself to a spa day once a month or even once every 3 months! At home, you can invest in a pedicure tub and a wax warmer to wax at home and complete your own salon services between visits to the salon/spa.

7. Beautify your space.

Add a feminine touch to your home. Fill vases with fresh flowers and place them throughout your home. Add pretty decorative pillows to your bed. Buy some faux sheepskin rugs and/or a few pretty tablecloths for your dining room table. Whatever makes you feel more feminine do it! You don’t have to redo your entire home. Focus on one room at a time, or just pick your favorite room and focus on just that alone. I’ve included some examples of feminine rooms to inspire you!

8. Listen more and talk less.

Try to listen before speaking. This allows you to make better responses when you listen and it also allows you some time to process the information being received. Sometimes people just need someone to talk to and listening makes you easier to talk to. I am in no way trying to say women should just “shut their mouths and do what they’re told”. We should be passed that silly idea in this day and age, but allowing yourself the time to just listen has many benefits. If anything it will help you not regret sharing information with the wrong person or saying the wrong thing. Even in a heated argument, a soft response can calm the storm.

9. Clean up your communication.

Do you have a bad habit of using swear words and/or other repulsive words? There is nothing feminine about yelling, cursing, and using dirty language. Make a habit of communicating without the use of swear words etc. You can express your anger and frustrations without cursing and still get your point across.

10. Be confident.

To sum it up, be confident in your appearance and embrace your femininity. You are a beautiful, strong, smart, and unique woman. Don’t let anyone stand in the way of you being you. Embrace your feminine lifestyle and walk strut, with your head held high and shoulders back. Smile and enjoy every part of this beautiful lifestyle not caring what others think. There is nothing wrong with being feminine. It’s part of being a woman and in my opinion being a woman is amazing!
